The role:

  • This role will involve providing tuition to young people referred to Targeted Provision
  • These young people are referred to us by local authorities and schools and will require some level of support in their educational and social-emotional journey
  • If selected, your role will be to provide this support via flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Planning each session of tutoring / mentoring
  • Providing the young person with holistic and engaging sessions which meet their needs and advance their educational and social-emotional journey
  • Completing lesson reports and providing feedback on the young person's progress

Requirements:

  • Professional Teaching Qualifications (for e.g. CELTA, TEFL, TESOL)
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience
  • Experience working with young people with EAL
  • Experience, knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes
  • Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at cost if needed)

As I mentioned, we're currently looking for a tutor to run an 11 plus course for us. We have already run a first term in south London, which has gone really well, but we are now looking to open a branch in north London. The course is aimed at children who are at state schools in year 5 and are looking for an intensive overview of math/English/VR and NVR ahead of 11 plus examinations.

We are looking for somebody with 11 plus experience and who would be able to handle a small group of children for a morning. They would also have to be quite personable and presentable, so that the parents feel comfortable.

The start date is 23rd April and the course will run for 10 weeks from 9am-noon. There will then be a second 10-week term after the summer holidays. We already have a full curriculum and resources. There would be somebody there with the tutor for when the children have their break or need something.

Requirements:

  • At least strong 2 years’ experience as a teacher or tutor.
  • Track record of Students and Success rates with independent top 100 schools in London
  • Based in London and be able to travel
  • An undergraduate degree and strong academic background.
  • At least 4 hours’ availability a week (In Person).
